1 in 9 adults and 1 in 6 children face hunger daily. So many people are forced to choose between buying food for their family or paying their utility bill. This is not unusual. 1 in 5 families must rely on food pantries. Most have jobs but still have a difficult time making ends meet. There are so many hungry senior citizens that are in desperate need of help with food.
65 % of households have school age children who are not being fed on the weekends outside school food programs during the week. Realizing this, we partnered with area schools thru a program called “Back Pack Buddies”. We package and transport food each week for students to take home and have food over the weekend.
Recently, several officer representatives of the Kannapolis Police Department partnered with Charity Food Bank by collecting and donating food snacks for Back Pack Buddies!
The Food Pantry is open each week unless otherwise noted for holidays or vacations on the Facebook page or posted on the exterior door of the Food Pantry.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I need to bring in order to receive food?
Currently, you do not need to bring anything to receive food.
How often may I receive food?
You can visit the food pantry and receive food once every week.
Am I able to receive food outside of normal Food Pantry hours?
Unfortunately, we distribute each week's food during our normal operating hours and do not keep food on hand throughout the week. We also operate solely through volunteers who are only able to be here during normal operating hours.
Am I able to have food delivered to me?
We are currently not staffed to make food deliveries.
What type of food will I receive?
Each week our distribution depends on the donations we have received. We do our absolute best to distribute food evenly among families as determined by the size of the family. We cannot guarantee any certain items but typically have a variety.
Do you provide financial assistance?
Due to the volume of requests we receive weekly for financial assistance, we do not offer assistance and refer all requests to Cooperative Christian Ministries in Concord. Please keep in mind that calling to speak to someone regarding financial assistance will not change this referral.
Where do I go once I get there and do I need to arrive early?
Our Food Pantry is currently drive through only. When you arrive on campus, you will enter the parking lot of the main building straight across from China Grove Rd. You will make a left and go around the brick building to the far left (Roger Dale Carter Building) and drive around the back of the building until you reach the last car in line. If you are the first car, you will drive around until you see the playground inside the fence (next to church office) and stop where the fence begins until Food Pantry volunteers or Security directs you to pull up.
Do you have a clothing closet?
We no longer operate a clothing closet to distribute or receive clothing donations.
I have a question that isn't listed here, is there someone I can contact?
Yes, you may call the church at 704-938-7664, choose option/extension 2 and you may leave a voicemail for our volunteer ministry leader. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.
